The Bhaktified Yoga Leggings
Bhakti means spiritual devotion, love or fondness. It can be in a human relationship, lover to beloved or a student to teacher relationship, but also in a non-human relationship with God, the Divine or even just spirituality without form. One of the ways to come to yoga (union) or mukti (liberation) is through Bhakti yoga. It is not (only) about being a devotee to God, but about knowing the Divine, participating in God and internalizing the Divine.
The Meaning of Anjali
Anjali means gift in Sanskrit. The Anjali Mudra is a hand position in which you place the palm of your hands against the other and let your thumb rest upon your heart, or to be precise your sternum. In Asia, this is a common gesture of greeting, as a sign of respect. This hand position you will also encounter in your yoga class and sometimes the teacher and students will say Namaste. In your yoga practice, the Anjali mudra is used to guide your focus towards the heart. This mudra will balance your right and left brain to continuously balance and harmonise both. The Anjali mudra is also very effective to balance your heart chakra.
